The alcohol industry exploits Christmas as another marketing opportunity to normalize alcohol use, drive more sales and increase their profit margins. Big Alcohol does this through several well-planned strategies to get more people to consume alcohol during the Christmas season, such as promotional deals and alcohol gift boxes.
But the price of increased alcohol sales is paid by people, as can be seen in the rising alcohol death toll in the UK.
