Posted on September 20, 2021 in Africa, Africa

The government of Namibia is in the process of drafting a bill called “The Prevention and Treatment of Substance Use”. This bill aims to curb the harms caused by both legal and illegal substances. A broad ban on alcohol marketing including advertising, promotion and sponsorship is part of this proposed bill.
If implemented and protected from vested interests, this bill has the potential to protect the Namibian people from harm caused by alcohol products and other harmful substances.
