Premature Alcohol-Related Mortality in the Americas From 2013-2015

Alcohol use is the sole cause of 85,000 deaths annually in the Americas region, according to a brand new PAHO/WHO study.
The products and practices of the alcohol industry cause more than 300,000 deaths every year. Therefore, PAHO urges countries in the Americas region to improve alcohol availability rules, to ban alcohol advertising, and to raise alcohol taxation in order to better protect people and communities.
