Gambia: Alcohol Lobby Achieves Tax Reduction

The Gambian parliament has decided to increase alcohol taxation to 75% for 2019. But at an extraordinary session on July 29, 2019, the Gambian National Assembly decided to reduce the country’s alcohol tax, reversing course on alcohol taxation, after heavy lobbying from Big Alcohol.
