Alcohol industry funded Drinkaware is conducting training courses for Irish teachers on how to lead classroom lessons about alcohol. Drinkaware has ignored advise by the HSE and the Department of Health that this involvement is inappropriate and refused to provide the HSE with copies of the resource used to train teachers.
Communities in Ireland have launched a petition to get the alcohol industry out of Irish schools.
