USA: SAMHSA Will Distribute $3 Billion to Fund Work on Addiction, Mental Health

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will distribute $3 billion in funding for addiction and mental health grants.
The funding will be allocated from the American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion coronavirus rescue package, to help the United States (U.S.) recover from the pandemic.
Funding addiction services is a necessity but so is investing in alcohol policy solutions. Prioritizing alcohol policy can ensure long-term protection for American citizens from the harm caused by the products and practices of the alcohol industry.
