South Africa: Alcohol Availability Drives Crime Rates

Crime rates for the first quarter of the 2021/2022 financial year have shot up compared to the same period last year. Authorities say the reason is that COVID-19 lockdown along with the temporary alcohol sales ban was lifted – thus making alcohol much more available again.
