West Bengal, India: New Excise Tax Regime Lowers Beer Taxes

West Bengal will be lowering alcohol taxes, starting first with beer under a new, even more complicated, tax regime. Taxes on hard liquor are also slated to fall by November. This policy reversal puts health and development in jeopardy in West Bengal.
