Ireland: New Study Illustrates ‘Exceptional Affordability’ of Alcohol, Key Driver of Alcohol Harms Epidemic

Findings from a new study illustrate that the exceptional affordability of alcohol is a key driver in high alcohol harms in Ireland. But minimum unit pricing (MUP) is set to come into force only in 2022. This policy will specifically target the cheap alcohol that’s driving heavy use.
